DFI Session Two

After today's session I am feeling far more confident using some of the tools shared. One of the tools that was shared that I will take back and use with my learners is Google Hangouts. I can see this being used in guided reading sessions and with connecting with learner from other spaces.
This is a group of us learning how to use Google Hangouts.
One of the other 'chalk and talk' blocks that we looked at was all around gmail and calendar. I learnt a few new tricks and shortcuts that should help me organise my mail and events so that I do not have to scroll through loads of emails trying to find specific ones.
A tip that we learnt around Google calendar is looking at colleagues calendars to find a time to set up meeting or find out what they are doing at a specific time. A barrier to this is people who do not update or add all events to the calendar. I can see this as a teaching point for staff at school.

I found today's session really informative around the Learn component of Manaiakalani, having DJ Burt speak to us and unpacking this concept opened my eyes to how Manaiakalani can support grow my learnings.

I found this image that was included in her PPT sums things up nice and simply.

Sometimes it is just finding the time to have that play and I am glad you were able to use today to do just that. You picked a great image to end you post with accelerating learning not just and idea a huge win for teachers.
